In this class you learn to create digital illustrations with the Procreate app. Procreate is very intuitive, which is why it is perfect for beginners and people who usually use traditional media.

Part 1

The class starts with an overview of the app’s most important functions. You’ll learn which image size is most suitable for your purposes and how to save, export, share and print your art. Silvia gives you a quick overview of the menu and shows you the most important tools and how to use them. You learn everything step by step by doing bite-size exercises. Learning by doing is the name of the game!

Part 2

Once everyone is able to use the app comfortably, it is time to dive into digital painting. Silvia shows you how to draw simple objects with different techniques, the brushes she recommends and how you can create interesting textures. Silvia also briefly talks about colour and how she creates an interesting palette in a simple and intuitive way. She teaches you how light and shadow can give your designs three-dimensionality and how you can add them quickly using layer masks and the selection tool. Last but not least Silvia shows you her final touch up process that makes her images pop, using the app’s light and color manipulation tools.
